Life Curation

How Do You Know If This Is Right For You?

Mercury & Soul's life curation is intentional organizing and sorting with someone skilled in compassion and empathy.

It can be one room, one set of objects, or an entire house. I will be a curator who listens to you and helps you find the best result for your objects. Curation will mean clever organization and pleasing designs, specifically tailored to you and your life.

The Mercury & Soul process lends itself to any of the below circumstances.

I come from a long line of collectors, history lovers, and explorers. I grew up surrounded by books and objects collected over a lifetime of travels. I also know that objects don't have to be intrinsically valuable to have immense personal value. I know the unbearability of parting with something like a coffee cup or glassware set used by a grandparent. I understand the personal importance of retaining century-old photographs and memorabilia of a life lived by a relative. I am skilled at helping people discern what is of value to them, what is a barrier to creating a home filled with personal meaning and identity, and creating personalized organizational systems and displays that best capture who they are.

I understand that sometimes the biggest barrier to sorting and organizing is fear of what happens to objects that no longer fit your life. Mercury & Soul will never just throw items away, unless that is something you would like to do. We will work together to identify the most dignified next place for anything you no longer wish to keep. I identify trusted partners for donation, resale, or recycling, so you are not weighed down by your curation choices.

I also understand that a significant barrier is the emotional weight of being with objects that carry real meaning for you. Mercury & Soul is about helping you carry that burden, so you don't have to tackle the weighty project alone. It is about compassionate accountability — helping you discern what stays and what goes, and how it stays in your home, through professional but gentle guidance.

Sometimes it isn't the emotional weight — it's the scale of a sorting project that overwhelms. A curator brings a framework and strategic vision to sorting, informed by the objects themselves. Whether it's boxes of photographs and family ephemera that have lain dormant in your basement for decades, an attic packed full of objects you've long forgotten, or a closet bursting at the seams with seemingly nothing to wear inside, Mercury & Soul brings the same compassion and curatorial eye to your home.

If any of this feels familiar, the next step is simply a conversation.
